Aquatics Canal System Committee
Minutes
September 26, 2007

Present:  Nick Gizzi, Bob Seneca, Bob Winter, Olga Durham, Linda Harrison, Richard Stravino

Absent:  Earl Haas, Cleon Marshall, Norb Zoltowski

Management: Julie Pittman, Management

Other Members: John Farrell, Joe and Claudette Romano, John Eisele, Bruce Miller, John Carroll and Jim Roberts

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. and Roll Call was taken.  There were no prior minutes to approve.

Nick Gizzi read his minutes from a meeting he’d attended with officials from Charlotte County Public Works (CCPW) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) on September 19, 2007 to discuss Rotonda Drainage. CCPW and FDEP agreed to help the Rotonda West Association improve the water drainage/retention of its canals.  The Committee will be updated as more information becomes available.

John Farrell presented the Committee with the Agenda for Octobers Aquatic Speakers meeting. 

2008 Proposed Budget:
The Operating Expense Budget and Reserve Budget were discussed.  Nick encouraged feedback from the Committee members. The Committee agreed on the following changes: 

Operating:  Total deductions           $13,750 
Reserves: Total deductions             $115,600  

A copy of either Aquatic Canal Operation Expense Budget (5 year plan) or the Planned Reserve Budget (5 year plan) can be obtained in the Association office.

Olga Durham wrote a report on the Rotonda Canal System that will be placed in the next issue of West Ways.
