Minutes
Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Roll Call: Ken Guillerm (Chair), John Forster, Derek Gilbert, Linda Harrison, Ken Hirsch, Don Mahon, Wayne Mengel, Jim Tibert, and Dave Pulaski.

Absent: Ken Hirsch, Dave Pulaski

Management: Julie Pittman, Manager

Other Members present: Nick Gizzi, Claudette and Joe Romano, John Eisele, John Carroll

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. and Roll Call was taken.  The minutes from September 5, 2007 were accepted as presented.

West Ways: Don Mahon: The September/October issue is being prepared. The list of contents for the upcoming edition was discussed in detail.  Ken Guillerm discussed if an article should go into the next issue of West Ways regarding the overgrown lot situation in Rotonda West. The Committee discussed the number of homes that are not being maintained due to foreclosures. The Committee decided that an article would appear in this issue of West Ways talking about the conditions of some Rotonda homes and what is being done about it. 

Web Site: Wayne Mengel: Wayne discussed seeing more pictures of the community on the web site. Wayne also suggested changing how the Golf courses are listed on the Web site. He suggested that they be changed to be alphabetically listed, instead of by who owns them. This would describe the detail list of the course, as it is now none of this is listed. It was suggested that the location of where the course is be added to the list presented by Wayne. The Committee authorized the change. 

A motion by ken guillerm to change the golf course listings on the rotonda west associaiton web site to alphabetically. Jim tilbert seconded and approved unanimously.

Christmas Parade: Linda Harrison stated that there is a meeting at the Community Center on October 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.  to discuss the parade. Linda also mentioned a meeting at the Elks on October 13, 2007 that she will be attending. Many volunteers are still needed. Ken asked when more details would be available.  Linda stated she would have more information after attending the October 13, 2007 meeting at the Elks. The theme for the parade will be “A Family Christmas.”  Ken stated that we need a copy of the permit for the parade and insurance information.

Volunteers Dinner: The upcoming Volunteer Dinner was discussed. It is being held at the Rotonda Country Club on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.  All Volunteers will be invited to attend this “thank you” dinner. Julie is working on getting the mailing for this dinner prepared. Wayne Mengel suggested putting this on the Web for advertising purposes. Don Mahon offered to take pictures during the event. 

Old Business: none

New Business: Candidate’s Night is October 18, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. was discussed. It was noted that some type of advertising needed to be implemented for this event. A notice was included in the annual meeting mailing.
